The Carpathia

The Carpathia was the vessel that was heralded as coming to the rescue of the Titanic on that fateful night in 1912. Named after The Carpathia our gift hamper provides traditional pleasure and comfort to all that receive it. Presented with a wonderful black branded chefs apron and filled with traditional artisan loose leaf Belfast blend and green teas, tea pot and strainer, handmade marmalades, jams and chutneys, truffles, fudge, dark chocolate coffee beans, milk chocolate brazil nuts, cinnamon covered almonds, shortbreads, honeycomb Yellowman, popcorn,  local sea salt, pepper and dulce (dried seaweed), locally blended coffee, traditional non-alcoholic Ginger port and toddy glasses and Longbridge ginger ale that was first manufactured within sight  of Harland and Wolff during the time it was building the Titanic.

Belfast Cranes Tin – Samson and Goliath, the Belfast Cranes are synonymous with the history of Belfast and also of the construction of the Titanic. My acrylic on canvas painting is not of the cranes themselves but of what a wall mural might have looked like. Belfast is sprinkled with murals depicting its political history acting as remnants of the ‘troubles’. My mural is old and decaying and depicts a historical account, not of the cranes but of the history of murals and wall paintings in this fabulous City.
